Real Antler Chandeliers

Real antlers come from deer, elk and moose. They are shed annually and then collected.

All CDN Antler Designs chandeliers, lighting, and other products are made from naturally shed antlers, no animals were hurt in our process of crafting antler art!

The abundance of moose and elk as well as white-tail and mule deer in our area provides us with a direct supply of naturally shed antlers.

Antlers are carefully chosen for size, curve and color insuring long lasting beauty and quality.

All wires are carefully threaded through the antlers and completely hidden. All bolts are countersunk and meticulously concealed for a flawless appearance. All lights are certified to comply with the most stringent manufacturing and safety codes in the U.S. and Canada (CSA listed to comply with UL 1598).

Faux antler chandeliers cost significantly less than natural antler chandeliers. Reproduction antler lighting is extremely light making these chandeliers much easier to install.

Reproduction antlers are made from a high quality resin and handstained for a natural look.

Faux antler chandeliers are modeled after real antlers that have already been processed and trimmed to shape. This means less work and minimal crafting or shaping during production.

Unlike real antlers, the material for reproduction antlers is readily available year-round, instead of relying on the one-time annual shedding of real animal antlers. Since supply is readily available and accessible, production is continuous, ultimately keeping down its price.

White Tail Deer antlers are dense with a sharp curve. They are usually lighter in color than other deer antlers. Chandeliers made with white tail will be thick and heavy. The average antler length is only about 1 foot so making large chandeliers with them is often impractical. Many antlers are needed so they become very heavy and expensive rather quickly.

White Tail Deer are native to North American.

Mule Deer antlers are the most common. They are brown with a slight curve. Because they are straighter than white tail deer antlers Mule Deer Antler Chandeliers can be built to much larger sizes. This is the best all-purpose antler to work with. Average length is about 2 feet. Mule Deer are native to North American.

Fallow Deer antlers are very dark brown in color and are palmated, like a small moose. Their deep rich color and flowing palmation make a very elegant piece. They are very expensive antlers. Average length is about 2.5 feet. Fallow Deer antlers are a European import from Spain.

A great antler for large chandeliers, elk antlers are brownish red in color and are long and straight. They range in size from about 2.5 feet to 5 feet long. Elk are native to North American.

Moose antlers are very dense. Moose is naturally a large, dark brown antler. A large moose antler can be about 3 foot by 3 foot in size. This makes very large chandeliers. Moose are native to North American.
