Tech Lighting Wall Monorail (Retired)

Customize Your Tech Lighting Wall Monorail System

Low-voltage heads are fixed to Monorail attached to the wall.

Design your rail.

  • Determine how many pieces of rail you'll need.
  • Wall Monorail can be shaped by hand to follow a curved wall or soffit.
  • Wall Monorail bends horizontally to a radius as small as 6" and vertically to a radius as small as 24" or it can be ordered in factory pre-bent custom curves.
  • To go around corners or up or down around windows at sharp horizontal or vertical angles; rail can be field cut, then joined with connectors at sharp horizontal or vertical angles.
  • Beginning from the power feed canopy, begin adding standoffs symmetrically every three feet and at corners. Standoffs can be positioned to cover points where rails are joined.
  • Place the last standoff 4" to 6" from the end of the rail.
  • Finish with a set of end caps.
  • Or choose a plug-in kit for simple setups.

Choose your lights.

  • Decide where the fixtures should be installed to put light where you want it.
  • Select from an array architectural heads.
  • Add optional colorful and decorative accessories and functional optical controls.

Select your transformer.

  • Add up the wattage from the lights you have chosen. Choose 12 or 24 volt. Then select a visible surface mount transformer or a hidden remote transformer with power feed canopy.
  • Wall Monorail must be placed so it runs directly in front of the junction box if using a surface transformer or within two feet of the junction box if using a remote transformer.
  • A 16' cord and plug is available plug in a surface transformer.
  • If you are using LED fixtures, be sure to choose a transformer that is compatible with LED elements.

(Or start with fixtures and accessories, then decide which layout will best support them.)

How do I design my own Wall Monorail?

First: Choose Wall Monorail heads.
Choose accessories, if desired.
Choose lamps, 12 or 24 volt, that do not exceed maximum wattage of element or accessory.
Choose finish of system.

Use a scaled drawing as a reference.

A) Decide where you want the rail to run.
b) Sketch it to scale, so you know what Length you want.
Measure Length of Wall Monorail run; determine quantity and Length of Monorail pieces required.
Specify one pair of End Caps for each open end of run.
Determine number of Standoffs needed, one for every three feet of run.

Select Either

Remote Transformer
Choose:
Magnetic or electronic
12 volt or 24 volt
Single or dual-feed Specify a Power Feed Canopy, single or dual-feed. (if using a dual feed transformer be sure to order two canopies)

OR

Surface Transformer
Note: if using a Kable Lite Surface Transformer the transformer must be mounted adjacent to run.
Choose:
Magnetic or electronic
12 volt or 24 volt
Single Specify a Center Power Feed or End Power Feed Connector and determine part number.
